SEK Obtains Full Dismissal Mid-Jury Trial for Construction and Heavy Equipment Client

SEK attorneys, Jeff Lagarde and Michael Maldonado, obtained a full dismissal of a plaintiff’s claims mid-jury trial in the 9^th Judicial District Court for Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Mr. Lagarde and Mr. Maldonado represented a construction and heavy equipment dealer that was sued by a plaintiff for alleged negligent repairs to his semi-truck’s engine. The plaintiff claimed that he used the subject semi-truck for commercial purposes and that the alleged negligent repairs caused his business to sustain significant lost profits. After successful cross-examinations of the plaintiff, the plaintiff’s expert economist, and a fact witness, the plaintiff moved to dismiss his entire lawsuit before calling his remaining witnesses.
