Biography
Corey Parenton was born in Thibodaux, Louisiana. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University, during which time he was employed by the Louisiana House of Representatives. Thereafter, earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University School of Law, where he served as Editor in Chief of and was published in the Loyola Maritime Law Journal. He also helped to re-establish the Maritime Law Society on campus.
Corey’s practice focuses primarily on admiralty and maritime litigation, and he has established a successful appellate record including a large additur for a personal injury plaintiff, dismissal by the Louisiana Supreme Court on a suit filed in an improper forum, reduction of a general damages award by a maritime personal injury plaintiff, a determination of vessel status for limitations, and reversal of a general damage award for a property damage claim. Corey is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeal, Fifth Circuit, United States District Courts, Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and all state courts in Louisiana and Texas. He is married. Mr. Parenton is the father of two sons.
